Re: How to remove E30 airbag steering wheel

Battery was disconnected for 2 weeks so it was good. Two T30 torx right on the column (not the 4 I thought were around the wheel; farther out). Easy peasy.

Re: Dexter Stage 6: No more motors!

You can try. For most courses, the hand brake isn't super necessary. BMW hand brakes tend to not be strong enough to lock the wheels though. I've only driven 1 car that could. Otherwise, pump your tires to 60psi, bleed out if you keep spinning. Clutch kick will likely be your best friend.

Re: Quick E30 reshell

Yep. The hope is to get the quickest route back on track. Pull everything worth a damn, put into new car. Rock on.

Quick E30 reshell

The S52 E30 went into a wall. front coil may have failed or the axle may have locked up. Regardless I'll make a video series!

Re: Dexter Stage 6: No more motors!

Just don't death grip the wheel and you'll be fine. Newbie mistake from road racers is to hand over hand. When you start a slide, the steering wheel will self correct faster than you can steer. Let it slide through your fingers. Let loose as soon as you start the slide if not sooner. Just watch some...

Re: Dexter Stage 6: No more motors!

Actually, aside from the lack of steering angle, your setup should slide like butter. In the hands of an experienced drifter tho. I like to setup my newbies with loose cars. But when you're good, it's frustrating and you want a slight understeer setup.

Re: Dexter Stage 6: No more motors!

I hate cone dodging. Makes sense for an autox but for drifting, it allows you to take all sorts of a fucked up line and still link the entire course without straightening or spinning. It's good for newbies but boring for anyone mid level or higher.

Re: Dexter Stage 6: No more motors!

Great thing about drift tracks, they make good grip tracks. If it's truly made for drifting, the corners should flow very well. I find that autoxs tend to make sharp angles. Maybe fun to grip but annoying to drift. IE Doable but good flow to a track makes all the difference.
