Re: How Many BMW's Have You Owned?

Not sure how I never posted in here. '87 325 sedan - Thanks for getting me into BMWs, Yoshi. This got M50 swapped and was sold to its current owners, who dropped in a M20B25 and are doing well in the Mid-Atlantic rallycross scene. '88 325is parts car - Bought with Yoshi. Sold M50 swap, harness went ...

Re: Mei: Erica's E30.

Yes, the car is still running stock brake calipers all the way around. I'm thinking at some point, I'll install Wilwoods to drop weight and get more pad on a somewhat larger rotor. The car now has StopTech Street Performance pads installed with Pentosin DOT4 brake fluid. https://scontent-iad3-1.xx.f...

Re: Mei: Erica's E30.

Things left to figure out before the next event: - Install the Sparcos. Use stock seatbelts since I am not installing a roll bar in this car to use 5 point belts, and harness bars don't pass track tech for SCCA or NASA - Pull the airbag steering wheel for the M Tech 1 I have sitting around so I don...

This is actually still in the back of Hank. Remind me to grab a picture and update the thread. It spent most of the winter buried under a pile of leaves.

A lot of traveling. I didn't realize this was basically going to be your forever house. Maybe I can find something in the neighborhood to rent so I can avoid driving 18 minutes to visit :P

I'm hoping this fixes your issues. It's very possible that Mei's inconsistent brake feel has the same possible root cause: ABS pump problems.

live and learn man. I really didn't want a car payment, but it's gotten to the point where I was spending every free moment I had working on keeping our daily drivers running and safe. I got into working on cars because I enjoyed it, that has not been the case the last few years, I've basically jus...

Short Stroke Coilovers w/Koni Race Dampers

Shipping is something I'd only do from someone on here after a non-refundable $150 deposit. For sale is a set of coilovers for the '84 - '91 BMW E30 chassis. The front strut housings were cut and re-welded by Living Dreams Auto Salon. Front & rear dampers were sourced from Ground Control based o...

Re: Frozen controls

Horns in general act oddly when outside temps drop significantly below freezing. The switches for our turn signals and wipers aren't very robust when compared against similar Japanese cars (that aren't Mazdas) from the same era. Metal contracts a wee bit when your temps hit the low teens (degrees F)...

Glad it wasn't worse damage. I've had so many cars hit and run in a similar fashion, so I feel your pain.

Re: Emelie: Doing it right... the second time

This car was sold and is being turned into a rallycross vehicle. It's also getting swapped back to a M20, which I am sure makes M20_fever happy.

I'll be getting the coilovers as well as the M50 swap bits back, so I'll be posting those up for sale at some point.

Re: Smaller master cylinder bore?

With the brake system your building you really should be using a manual bias valve in the cockpit to tune the brakes for track conditions. On a hot day you'll want much different bias than a cool wet day, especially with fully manual brakes. This x1000. There are resources for calculating the bore ...
