Re: How Many BMW's Have You Owned?

My car needs the rear tail panel replaced. The only way it would be a show car is if it was the only E30 M3 around.
I do have a friend with a really nice example in diamantschwartz, and another bud with a repainted salmon silver example.
Hopefully i'll get to the track with something next year.

Re: How Many BMW's Have You Owned?

I haven't been on the track for 8 years. I did the Road America octoberfest in 2008, with Badger Bimmers. That may have been the last time I was on track. Seems like the car always needs some upgrade to be track worthy. 2008-2009 was the time of the s14 rebuild. Now, I'm currently buying the lifters...

Re: How Many BMW's Have You Owned?

I ran the E30 M3 at Blackhawk farms in stock form with R comps a couple of times. It is the only unmolested car that I actually enjoyed on the track. I spun a rod bearing and rebuilt the engine Except Lifter buckets for $4800, iirc.. I didn't feel too keen about another rebuild, so I tossed an S52US...

Re: Rear shock mount reinforcement plate placement

Did you feel the vibration thru the steering wheel?
Or via the seat?

Foolish question (M20)

Picked up a 10/88 production 325 coupe.
It broke a timing belt, ergo 6 broken intake rockers and 6 bent exhaust valves.
Is this a suitable core head :?: :?:

They wish that they are Toyota.
We don't buy Camrys but they don't care about us.

Re: J-Stock springs cancelled..?

TMS J stock springs are made by H&R and come in an H&R box
May still be available if one asks for the H&R catalog #?

Re: Rear shock mount reinforcement plate placement

The plate goes on top of the sheet metal and then the two lock nuts that secure the top of the damper to the body.
The plates spread the shear load in order to prevent the sheet metal from getting torn out.
The answer is (a)

Re: 1989 325ix Off Idle Engine Hesitation - Video Included

Welcome. 1, Your valve clearance may need adjustment as the engine is more tappy than my engine. 2, the stutter at tip in of the throttle is pretty much normal as the intake air charge has mass and it has to accelerate past the barn door of the AFM and then get past the throttle body butterfl...

Re: Let's talk aftermarket radiators...

I bought a nissens from BMA. It is to replace the M42 radiator in my swap car. it seem to be struggling to keep the S52 cool in traffic. Kind of a shame as it is a sanitary appearing radiator. Other people are using it in their track cars, but it makes me nervous to watch the water temps creeping up...

Re: 87 e30 jumpy take offs

Is the rear main seal leaking?
That will make the clutch jumpy at certain times, usually when the car is cold.
The oil/dirt/friction material tends to be sticky at lower temps but has less effect when the drive train is up to operating temp.
imo.
