Re: went to the track but someone stole all the corners!

Damn dude, 13.2!! Makes me feel like crap only running 12.6 with 15psi haha! That's a damn good time for an m20 unless I'm missing something. How much does your car weigh?

I rented it from iskycams.com. Not sure if they still do it, but you could always ask. It's called the groove-o-matic.

Re: Dontrusthise30's 88 325is

Yeah it's o-ringed. Engine has held up fine. It's been a couple years since I put this engine in, and I haven't touched it except for valve adjustment and oil changes.

Re: Dontrusthise30's 88 325is

So I'm still kinda sorta around. I've been spending most of my time with my motorcycles lately, but the BMW had a big weekend! I was at a car show called eurohangar yesterday, and they had a dyno. Paid my 65 bucks and put down 371whp and 396wtq at 14psi. I had already made plans to hit the drag stri...

Re: Turbo setup for $700-900?

I have a 2.8 with head work and cam, and I think the hx35 sized turbo is just about perfect if not slightly too big. I'm running a t3/t4 garrett, and it's more than enough turbo. At 18psi I have no drop off at all in the high RPM's.

Re: Turbo setup for $700-900?

I know a lot of guys run the bosche bov's and they are dirt cheap and good quality. Easily had for 30-50 bucks. I'd be very careful with used turbos. I've bought two in the past and both ended up having to be rebuilt even though I was told they were in working condition. Oddly enough, a buddy of min...

Re: Turbo setup for $700-900?

Possibly... I would recommend the most money going to a good turbo with internal gate and a decent bov. I've seen too many cheap bov's not open correctly. Ebay manifold, fmic, and piping kit if you have an aluminum welder or tons of couplings! I'll check if I've got left over ones I can send your wa...

Re: Power time! Recommend me a clutch

That sounds nice! 400 is way higher than I should need. Do you have any idea what you paid for it? Remember that the 400hp is only a rough guideline for what the clutch can hold. A lot factors into how you will be using the car. If it's a DD and sees an auto-x once a month, then it should be just f...

Re: Power time! Recommend me a clutch

Neither. I just called him and told him what my setup was and what I use the car for, and he recommended it to me. He can get a lot more than just the two he advertises on the website.

Re: Power time! Recommend me a clutch

I have the clutchmaster 400 clutch and it's served me very well. Been in the car about two years. Good drivability and I've never had any fade. I run about 18psi and have done about 10 auto-x and plenty of beatings. I would definitely recommend it. Bought mine through turbocharging dynamics.

Re: Loose gearstick e30 1984 323i

Here's a decent article about it: http://www.rtsauto.com/how-to-fix-a-sloppy-and-worn-e30-shifter-and-make-it-tighter-then-original-video-included/ Honestly, even with all the UUC parts and whatnot, I still think e30's have a mediocre shifter at best. It'll never be as good as some of the other manu...

Re: Dontrusthise30's 88 325is

Yeah, that's just it. The car has only one spot of any rust at all and I've already prepped and sealed it. My buddy has a huge garage on his property with a lift, so winter will more than likely bring on a full suspension refresh. She's due for it.

Re: Dontrusthise30's 88 325is

Wow, I haven't been on here in a while. Just transferred up to michigan and drove the bimmer the whole way from the florida keys. Learned how crappy the roads are in many states and just how much abuse my exhaust can take. Car is still running strong, but will unfortunately have to become a seasonal...
