Re: 87 325e dies on acceleration when warm
It's an M20, if the valves don't tick something is wrong. Glad you got the fueling issue resolved.

Re: E36 power steering rack conversion
There is enough write-ups online for this that a monkey could do it, provided that monkey could work a computer.

Re: 87 325e dies on acceleration when warm
Have you pulled the vacuum line off the FPR to see if it's bad? If fuel pressure is dropping to zero like that the pumps ('87 had dual pumps IIRC) are losing power. Check the relays, trace the wiring from the tank to the fuse box looking for chaffed wires grounding out.

Re: 1986 Baur cracked head repair help!
Good talking to you last night John. If it turns out you need a head I found one for you for $40. Still be surprised if it's not just a head gasket.

Re: 1986 Baur cracked head repair help!
Had a few e3o people in Northern Cali highly recommend Ryan's shop. I'd give him a call and see what he says. https://www.facebook.com/pg/Ryan-Gangemi-Motorworks-138459956228976/reviews/ I still think we need some more info on exactly what the symptoms you are having are, I agree with Yoshi cracked ...

Re: 1986 Baur cracked head repair help!
This guy is selling complete m20 engines, most likely 2.7e engines for complete for $500-600. Can't hurt to ask if he has a spare 2.7 head laying around. https://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/pts/d/bmw-engines-m20-m40-m42-s52/6501218822.html This dude specifically has m20 heads for sale: https://sfbay.cr...

Re: 1986 Baur cracked head repair help!
Glad to see you got in John, I fixed your pic. Gonna need better pics of that car for sure! ;) we've got a pretty strong network in the community to find you a reputable shop and good used parts to get her rolling again. Did your current mechanic tell you where the head was cracked? Between the cool...

Re: Delanoso's resurrection thread
Put a second gauge on the return line, it should be close to zero. If it's more than ~5psi there is likely an obstruction somewhere. You can also jump the fuel pumps with the car off and see what the gauge does. If it's steady with the car off you likely have a bad injector.

Re: Delanoso's resurrection thread
wait, your gauge is between the inline filter under the rocker and the fuel rail, right? So that should be between the FPR and the pumps. Post a pic, I'm not understanding where you're currently tapped in for fuel pressure.

No idea, complete lack of caring? How long does it need to be down to turn on your copy here?

Re: Delanoso's resurrection thread
Holding pressure for an hour is normal, nothing to worry about there. Where are you tapping in to get the fuel pressure reading? If it's after the FPR right before the input to the fuel rail (kinda looks like it) then you could get readings like that as the injectors fire. Pull pressure before the F...

Re: Yoshi's E46 build
I get it, sometimes I need to remind myself not to get so caught up in the "best way" to do something to the point I never get to even use it because I don't have the means/time to do it exactly how I want. I get reminded of this every time I have to do a track day hack to keep the car in the runnin...
