Re: Merry Christmas guys

haha, yeah, can't stand all the birthday parties. I swear, every month there are several invitations from school for these things. If I could just dump and run that'd be fine, but I really don't want to sit and make small talk with a bunch of other parents I don't know, and have nothing in common wi...

Re: Yoshi's E46 build

lol, "I want to keep daily drivability." and "welded diff" does not compute. If you're worried about subframe tearing a welded diff is probably the best way to make sure it happens. What's wrong with an LSD?

Re: Dexter Stage 6: No more motors!

Don't get me wrong, I still love wrenching on stuff, just not BS maintenance on my daily. The little time I have to spend in the garage these days I would rather spend on fun stuff like bolting turbos to stuff. I found Derlin to be the perfect performance mount material. It doesn't degrade, but it a...

Re: Dexter Stage 6: No more motors!

I never liked the e36. Test drove a few when I was looking for my e30 and confirmed they are crap. I remember when my neighbor growing up got an e46m3 new, it imprinted on me, love the styling. It it starting to look aged, but as a replacement for the e30 (should I need one), it would be be a perfec...

Hope you had good holidays. Mine were the usual, kinda glad it's over. Christmas with kids is exhausting, lol.

Re: Dexter Stage 6: No more motors!

Bummer you're out of the e30 game, but e46 is a good platform. If I ever wreck the e30 it will get replaced with an e46m3. I need to start getting up on newer chassis, I'll be looking for a new daily in the next couple years and I want a newer 5 series. I always like the e39 but by the time I'm in t...

Re: How Many BMW's Have You Owned?

man, I thought I was high with 3 lol. '91 318i sedan - miss this car, bare bones manual window, sunroof, black comfort interior, 10/10 interior and 9/10 Zino exterior - sold and new owner totaled it within a month... '87 325e coupe - fun car, but had bad rot in the floorboards - sold '90 325is - too...

Re: Ressurecting E30Tech - The story thread

Yeah, I feel like there is a dwindling market for tech forums, and r3v has the corner on old BMWs, with Bimmerforums following. Facebook is nice for quick answers, but forums are better for long term documentation. Photobucket put a major hurt on the legacy info out there when they killed free acces...

Re: The Rust Project

That 3M stuff is garbage. Ive had rust coming through that stuff within weeks of application. POR 15 is good, but keep in mind if you read the instructions is says to top coat it once cured if the surface is exposed to UV. I still say the Stops Rust Chassis Saver is the best stuff out there. I've do...

Re: Ressurecting E30Tech - The story thread

It's a matter of time before tech goes down again. Chris is once again MIA after a week of saying how he was going to be around more.

Re: Quick E30 reshell

If you get your SEO keywords right I would think you would get a slow and steady stream of views. Most people don't really care to watch a tech video until they need it. Stupid videos are entertainment, much easier to rack up hits.

Re: Quick E30 reshell

Wouldn't a shop press make life a LOT easier on all these bushings? I was planning on just getting one of the harbor freight units when I did mine. Also, for the stuck sub-frame bushing, why taper with the step drill? Wouldn't that reduce the bite from threading the bolt in?
