Re: I want to kick this cold weather in the fayse! (engine problems)

Woo hoo!!! It was like 65 degrees on Saturday so I swapped out the heater core. The old one was definitely leaking. After I removed it I filled it with water, plugged 1 hole and blew into the other hole and the water was spraying out the side. When I put in the replacement (which didn't have any of ...

Re: I want to kick this cold weather in the fayse! (engine problems)

I got a whole box of Harbor Freight hose clamps somewhere. Probably have a couple thousand zip ties too. I actually pulled the side of the console as far back as I could without breaking it and saw what I'm gonna be dealing with. Metal pipes, not hoses. I guess I should probably try to get those as ...

Re: I want to kick this cold weather in the fayse! (engine problems)

I ordered a new core and 2 hoses. They shipped out this morning. I'll be swapping those in when they arrive. Is there anything else I should buy just in case?

Re: I want to kick this cold weather in the fayse! (engine problems)

So I ordered a clutch slave, but I don't know if I'll be needing it. Last night on my way home from work I noticed my temp go way up into the red, so I pulled into a parking lot. I knew my coolant was low. I've had to add like a quart every couple days, and I hadn't added any in 2 days. When I open ...

Re: I want to kick this cold weather in the fayse! (engine problems)

Great, more crap to fix. Had to do a clutch slave on my white e30 once when the pedal stayed on the floor after starting the car. I remember it was a pain in the ass to bleed with a helper. Now I gotta figure out how to do it solo.

Re: I want to kick this cold weather in the fayse! (engine problems)

Is there any way brake fluid could be leaking into the clutch making it slip like that? Yesterday my brake light started coming on while driving to work, so I checked and the fluid was low. I don't ever see any wet spots where I park, but the fluid has to be going somewhere. The way the slip feels I...

Funny my boss recommended the same thing to me this morning. Guess I need to shop around for a good price on a core.

Re: UnOfficial Winter Preparation Guide :)

Wasn't hilarious when seeq stole my domain. It was active and hosted when they took it. I never found out how they did it.

Re: I want to kick this cold weather in the fayse! (engine problems)

Past few days haven't really been cold. I put the temp control all the way to the cold side to see what happens. Leaving top and middle vents off, but bottom open fully. When the car gets up to normal operating temp I notice a slight fog come from under the dash. If I open the middle vents the fog w...

Microsoft doesn't want you to know that information because it decides what's best for you, no matter how bad it is. :-D

There's always ways to snatch up domains that are reserved. I once had a domain stolen from me while it was still active! Now seeq.com wants me to pay $1888.00 to get it back. Fuq dat y0!
