Re: 1990 535i 5spd

Nah, I'm sticking with the m20. I already have a spare motor that I'm gonna drop in so I can drive it while I'm rebuilding the one that's currently in there. I don't know anyone looking to trade their e30, but I know a guy who's selling a chipped black 88 325es 5 speed with several "i" par...

Re: 1990 535i 5spd

I'm actually not sure what I'm gonna need yet. This is gonna be my first engine rebuild. I haven't even begun taking it apart yet, so I don't even know if it's usable. 1 Cylinder has no compression most likely due to the tip of the spark plug breaking off. I plan on adding a big turbo, so I know I'm...

Re: 1990 535i 5spd

Well, if I really did have 3 grand to spend I'd have a rebuild kit for my motor.

Re: My 1986 325es

Where did you get the leather to redo the seats? The leather on mine is totally screwed, and I'd love to redo them in black or dark blue. I haven't had any luck at the junk yards. The best seats I found were tan ones out of an 88 325i. I might install them, but I'd rather have the sport seats.

Re: E85 Turbo

Last time I bought Sunoco 110 octane leaded it cost me $4.99 a gallon. That WAS several years ago though, when 93 octane was only like $1.70. I put it in a brand new 2001 Chevy Malibu I rented to go to Detroit. I raced it up and down Route 75, and it ran GREAT! When I was heading back home on Route ...

Re: Anyone in/near New Jersey wanna hit the junk yard?

Eh, decided to hit up the local yards today. Shoulda left my house 4 hours ago, but I've been laying in bed watching movies. I feel so lazy. Well, off to (hopefully) get some more parts!

Anyone in/near New Jersey wanna hit the junk yard?

So my friend backed out at the last minute... We were SUPPOSED to leave for Harry's U-pull-it in PA at 6am tomorrow, but he blew up the tranny in his Acura TL, and he doesn't feel like taking the train from Brooklyn to meet me. Anyone feel like taking a ride out there? Tomorrow is the last day of th...

Re: White 87 325is in NJ

I was going to wait until the engine was done before doing any cosmetic work, but I couldn't resist. My first mod. Excuse the crappy quality, I took the picture with my cell phone in bad light.

White 87 325is in NJ

I'm reposting my car pics here. I think they fit better here than the intro thread. Am I wrong? Picture time! I know the car looks a little rough, but I JUST got it... Haven't had time to fix anything yet. I got a used hood badge from the jy, but decided not to put it on and ordered a blue and gray ...

It's a special they're running this week only. Look up "Harry's u pull it" and you can see their specials for each of their 3 locations. Definitely worth a trip there if you're ever in the area.

Re: The intro thread

Awesome! Looks like you've got a bunck of work ahead. But you have a good start. Yeah, I got many many many many hours of work ahead, but I'm looking forward to it. I would love to start ripping that motor out this Saturday, but I'm going back to Harry's U-Pull-It in PA with a friend to try to find...

Re: The intro thread

Doesn't brake cleaner ruin paint, vinyl, leather, basically anything it touches? I thought it might too, but I asked one of the mechanics at my job, and he said it shouldn't ruin anything. He has been using it for years. I still wouldn't suggest spraying it on cloth, or anything else that ANY liqui...
