Postby joecrotch » Tue Aug 24, 2010 7:47 pm

i was wondering if someone would be so kind as to do a write up on a turbo rebuild. I am getting ready to do a rebuild on my turbo saab 9-3 and the e30's t04e 86 trim. so i figured someone here must of done it before?

It depends on turbo to turbo. I did one but never released it for the HX35 (I think). But if your shaft is worn badly, you can't rebuild it.

its a t25 that i am gonna do first i believe it is a gt17XXX something. so once I get it apart what would be considered "worn badly"? should i check it with a micrometer? and I know someone mentioned something about keeping the turbines alligned properly

all I know is, if you can rub your nail across the shaft and feel a snag, it's bad. I don't know where to get t25 rebuild kits. HX ones are all over ebay.
