87 325e dies on acceleration when warm
Glad to hear it was that simple. Sometimes the wiring is a bit fubar so make sure things are solid on the connectors.

Well new fuel pump did jack squat still giving me the same problem only thing new fuel pump did was be a little quieter under acceleration no more “woosh” sound everytime it cut out and you’d give it gas to much bmw projects at one point only one I want working lol

Have you pulled the vacuum line off the FPR to see if it's bad? If fuel pressure is dropping to zero like that the pumps ('87 had dual pumps IIRC) are losing power. Check the relays, trace the wiring from the tank to the fuse box looking for chaffed wires grounding out.

Never pulled the vacuum line honestly but my first approach was the wiring and everything checked out then I just replaced to relays just cause I had so much new ones laying around I’ll pull the vacuum line as soon as the snow melts a little

Fuel pressure regulator is my next guess. But when you pull 0psi, see what the power going to the pump is. You could have an issue with your wiring.

Re: 87 325e dies on acceleration when warm
So I went to go pull the fpr line and noticed a relay kept clicking I looked it up and it was fuel pump relay I went back to the fuel pump to check for wiring issues everything was good so I did some reasesrch and in people pics of their fuel pump they had two wires on the pump so I thought it only takes 5 min to pull the pump I pulled it and no ground wire in the pump just the power don’t know how I didn’t realize it when swapping the pumps but I soldered a new ground to the empty prong on my new pump put it back together took it for a ride and boom all 120 325e horses unleashed onto New Jersey public roads thank you guys for helping me out on this never thought to even change my fuel pump before this think when a fuel pump is done it’s done now it’s time to focus on the valves ticking and paint

It's an M20, if the valves don't tick something is wrong. Glad you got the fueling issue resolved.

Yea getting an M20 to not tick is like keeping kids away from ice cream. It's gonna happen whether you want it to or not.
