too long. didn't read.

I do know of the few problems you run into with ITBs. Intake manis do a lot. When you don't have them, you need to create a vac signal source.

You better have a 11.1 or more, wild cam and real tuned headers etc for them to be an asset. Just get an s54, the work is all done already :)

If I did it, it wouldn't be solely to add power. I just want the sound/throttle response.

They are sexy as he'll, but as far as performance upgrades go the money could be better used else where.

Please, your really saying you could do a non-junkyard 24v in for the cost of an itb setup? Troll on my friend, troll on.

Nah meant you could put ITBs on a 24v and get more out of it than ITBs on an M20.

Never said that wasn't true, I said the money it would cost for an itb setup on an m20 would be better spent on other modifications to the m20.

We all agree a 24v breaths better than a 12v, my reasoning of them being not worth the work is that you can easily get more power than you can use with a properly built m20.

The way they went about the conversion was....Unusual.
It looked like the packaging of the TBs was seriously compromised. There is little to no length on the intake runners = No torque . I would also guess that the SOHC could not rev high enough to get the top end potential out of the TBs.
A rethink of the system would get the big potential of the TBs.
The car should have been switched to Alpha N and deleted the MAF, which is probably a restriction for the TBs.
The retention of the plenum kept the intake tract too short.
They'll figure it out, but should have done a little more homework.

I wouldn't consider his experience very well thought out to begin with, and therefore a little bit of a mute point for anyone really doing their homework. It was obviously way too much for the engine, essentially the kit he bought was meant to compliment a high compression/large cam race engine, i.e. NOT his engine.

Feel free to keep thinking about them Rick!
