Well I mean, if you get a down pipe, you'll still have to weld up the rest of the exhaust. So why bother with a down pipe to begin with?

You don't weld? How'd you do all that body work on the chevy?

Yeah I weld plenty. So did you just buy a flange to bolt to the turbo and work back from there? Just haven't seen much out there on down pipes and exhaust design. The CXracing kit just eliminated a lot of the work by supplying the down pipe with a flex end to bolt to the exhaust.

Yep. Depends on the type of flange. I haven't done a V band that I haven't warped. But if it's a flat v band, you can just have it machined flat or take a belt sander to it. Most of the regular style cheap turbos have a simple bolt on thick ass flange you can weld to with a gasket to make sure it doesn't leak.

Yeah, the SC will be a ton of fab work I honestly don't have time for these days...I think with the right settings in MS I should be able to eliminate the issues I was concerned about with the turbo.

Sweet man. Can't wait to see how this all progresses. Your car was awesome in its current form so a turbo should make it pretty awesome. :)

yeah, a couple hundred more HP should make it pretty fun, lol.

Corben really came through for me, like big time! I'll get some pics later but so far it looks like he sent me a turbo (needs assembly and probably rebuild), MBC, a boost gauge, a bunch of vacuum line, and some misc hardware and clamps and such. Still sorting through the box, but it looks like all I really need to source at this point is a manifold and oil lines!
