What head set did you go with?

Thanks for the write up!

I kinda pieced the kit together.

This is what a used

Goetze Head Gasket <-- got it from rmeuropean
BMW OEM Head bolts
Victor Reinz Exhaust gaskets (only cause it just an exhaust gasket...)
BMW OEM cam seal and O-ring
BMW OEM Rocker Shaft plugs - Highly reccommend buying these from there because aftermarket ones tend to be a bit smaller
Victor Reinz Intake Gaskets - Just cause they seemed to do ok on my red car...
BMW OEM throttle body gasket
Contitech Timing belt
Water pump - I can't remember that brand
BMW OEM t-stat w/ gasket
BMW OEM T-stat housing gasket
All new Exhaust studs

If I think of anymore stuff, I'll add it in!

Let me know if there is anything that really needs to be looked at. I tried my best to make sure that write up caught most of everything. Do you have a bentley to use as well? I'd have that on had as well.

My biggest piece of advice is to bag the bolts in seperate bags so that you can mark where they go. I forgot to do this as I was disassembling so reassembly was a pain..

No Bentley. Should the local parts stores have them? (oreilly, napa, advanced, checker,...)

nope, if your lucky a local book store like Boarders might have one in stock but more than likely you will need to order it online.

Very much worht IMO. You'll use it alot if you do alot of work on the car. Its got everything in there for the most part that you'd really need to know.

I used mine all the time for the first year I had an e30, but I can honestly say I haven't opened mine in a year. I still use it now and then for torque specs and such though.

The bentley is by far the best tool I have bought for any car. It gives you the info when you need it, but to be honest you start to remember the torque specs after doing something a few times.

Just to add in if any of you need head studs, just let me know, it's a great time to do it while changing your head gasket.

That's what I used the first time I did a head gasket. I found that it was a bit confusing from time to time though.
