Its a simple grounded system, start at the pads with someone in the car and start looking for the loose connection.

Yeah if water effects it I am thinking Tony is right with it being a bad ground, or water causing something to short out somewhere.

Found the issue with the brake lining light today. Took the front wheel off and the wires were broken...had been rubbing on the inside of the wheel the whole time. Weird. I'll have to get a new sensor again I guess.
