BTW By googling "bmw z1 rear rotors 280mm" you'll find many threads explaining what's needed. Also any BMW dealer shall be able to source rotors for you.

Personally, I don't think going from 256mm to 280mm will do mch difference while getting vented discs would greatly improve heat management.

VW rear discs come with integral bearings and therefore aren't a proper rear swap for an e30.

Perhaps I'll call on those rotors. I thought they were harder to find. :) Its $250 for just the rotors... none of the other little goodies. either way, it'll be less money than just about anything else out there!

Rear rotors are most likely going to last for years. So not that big an expense. ;-)

Rear e30 325iX Touring discs are 256x19mm and vented - part # 34211165261 - but I have no idea if they will fit. Most likely they are too deep by at least one inch.

Lee, what are your thoughts on redrilling rotors from 5x120 to 4x100 with the hole overlap?

Redrilling is a no-no. Not to mention that the center bore will still be too big.

Also, does anyone know... will a conversion like this bump me to DSP or SM? Right now the car is setup for STX/R so I was wondering what a BBK would do to me.
