Kidding...kind of. Took six hours to just remove the driveline, power converter/tranny, pressureplate, clutch and flywheel. Didn't exactly get on with the removal of the Auto out of my 91.

I guess I should make a thread about all this. Took a handful of pics.

Hey, got a quick question for y'all...

Is there any reason why you would need to swap steering columns from a 5spd car to the Auto car??? I would think everything should swap over, no?

The whole column? No. Not unless you want to get a longer steering shaft for a single U joint rack... but no reason.

hmmm....Would it matter you think if the 5speed swap was from a 1988 going into a 1990? Early to late? I don't know... my buddy insists its different.

Oh they are very different. but you don't need to swap them lol. The 1990 has a part that mounts to a new section of the steering column... support. not the steering column. I just left those bolts out because the 4 against the fire wall and the same 2 should be accessible up top. More than enough.

Summation:
column is different
column support is different
probably not all holes are lined up
6 out of 8 or 10 bolts ain't bad.

OK. Sounds good dude. I just hadn't heard of that before. I am not sure what his plan is. Its a customers car so they gotta talk it over. They were thinking about swapping the steering columns to.
