Nah, seemed fine to me. You need a couple cameras so you can change up the shots in editing. :)

Nice work Yoshi! This explains some of the questions I had on rebuilding my diff. I think it would have made much more sense if I had been the one to pull it apart but it came disassembled. Setting lash to me at the moment means making sure the gears are the proper space apart. However, I have no idea how to set it. I'm assuming on the install part it will make sense to me.

BTW when you said to look at your Youtube video for this I thought you were fucking with me. I looked for a while on youtube but couldn't find them. Just now am I seeing it! lol

Thanks for the write up,

Sam

If the diff has the plates in a way you know which side is which, lash shouldn't be an issue. You'll have to do the paint method or get an actual gauge otherwise. Lash is side to side distance and pinion depth is forward to backward. Pinion depth is factory set unless you redo the pinion bearing. So assuming the pinion gear is untouched, you just have lash to play with if at all.

Thanks man, you need to set up a donation section. Maybe get stickers or something. I like doing all my own work when I can and appreciate information like this.

Yoshi, if I was only going to add 1 more clutch, then I would only need 1 more dog ear plate correct?

From what I can tell from your video, I would just remove the 4mm spacer and that alone would let me add the 3rd clutch. About to order the parts and just trying to make sure I'm getting the right things.

Yes sir. you are correct. A guy messaged me a while ago about doing 4 clutches without machining the housing. It's possible but the preload will be so high you might as well weld an open diff. I'm not sure if there is any down side to 3 clutches. Uneven lock up? *shrugs*

Was wondering the same. Metric Mechanics picture on the top of their page has the diff showing only 3 clutches and I think they do rebuilds that way as well.

yep they do
