I am assuming that those numbers are the ratios for each gear? Is it also safe to assume that the numbers correspond to the gears like this -> 1-2-3-4-5-R

that doesn't make sense, with that logic the g260 is a 6 speed. You should specify which ratio is for reverse.

if it has what, reverse? I would think all transmissions have reverse. A 6 speed indicates 6 forward gears, I'm just saying you should denote that one of those ratios are for reverse.

Hi Yoshi,
What transmission which Getrag gearbox has numbers 220.0.0225.96?
From which E36 model is that, is it 318iS or 318iS Motorsport 2?
I have a 325i E30 with 2.8 conversion, my diff is 3.15 limited slip and I am currently using some E36 transmission which is running SUPER until around 160km/h where is looses power and the limiter will kick in at 6500rpm and car is at 200km/h on 5th gear which is not really what I had in mind.
I know Getrag 260 will give me longer legs and I will be able to push it towards +/-270km/h. But besides that which other transmission is as good or even better?

Welcome aboard!

I have no idea what transmission has that number on it.

For the 2.8 a regular getrag 260 should be fine. Especially with the 3.15 back end. Only other one might be a getrag 240 but then you have to change so much about your setup to fit that trans. I'd say just stick with the 260.

G260 is a great all around trans for these cars. Only other trans I would want to run is the euro s50 6 speed with a higher final ratio, but I'm not willing to pay 2500+ USD to get one over here. I don't think you guys got them either.

Welcome to e3p btw!
