This site is awesome!

Where did you get the seal kit? I just picked up an M3 rack that is leaking like a mofo

Well the ratios are different, but I'm not sure on the seals.

the kit i found has 24 seals, the one in the DIY has 23... seems like it would be worth it to try it out. I'll order it and let you guys know, unless anyone can confirm that it won't work

How the hell do you get the seals out from inside the steering rack? It's half way in and a hammer isn't doing crap. I can barely get on the lip of the seal :(

Could try a piece of wire bent over or curled over. Needs to be thick enough to keep from straightening back out.

E36 rack. It's about a food into the steering tube itself. You can't get anything at it but a really long screw driver or pry bar.

I just knicked at it for a long time till it broke and came out. Then I gave up. The rack is still sitting on my work bench... wow it's been 2 years.

aw.. ive been at it for a while now.. now i have even less hope.. lol i think these are a PIA to get out because the ZF used eather teflon or silicone to seal better or meybe just age? ive been trying to soak it in pb plaster and wd40 to loosen it up.. meybe? anything else i can try goo gone? Also i on step #10 the 2nd pic of the metal ring, i cant get it to budge out, "drive out seals" means to bang them out? lol sorry, im confused and flustered on this.. ill attach pics below. also this is a zf 95 m3 rack, i think all e36 use the same seals tho. seems hopeless but any help would be much appreciated. TIA
