J-Stock springs cancelled..?

Postby blasphemy101 » Fri Aug 30, 2013 2:33 pm

Just a heads-up...

I've exchanged emails/phone calls with sales reps at Turner Motorsports over the last couple of days. They are ending production of the J-Stock springs. They have plenty of the dampers left, but I've placed an order for one of the two remaining sets of springs. So there's one set left waiting for one of you guys on the fence to pick it up...

Interesting, they give any reason?

oh yea. Didn't we discuss this a while ago? For the cost of Jstock, you can get the best coilovers with any rates you want. So aside from the progressive 200-900 front springs, you can get jstock for less.

Since the j-stock class was cancelled I guess there is just a lack of demand. The j-stock dampers should be a good bit better than comparatively priced coilovers...

Yes and no. GC custom valves for you. And they are adjustable.

sad to hear this...really didn't think it would happen for a good while. Can you set up coil overs to perform as well, yes. Do most people have the skill to do so, No. I've ridden in several e30s on coils and none have cone close to handling like my j-stocks.

Well yeah, but aren't GC coilovers like $1400?

The dampers should be available from Turner for some time, after that you can have Bilstein Sports revalved. It's unfortunate that the springs are going, though. From what I could tell, they were really the only off-the-shelf option appropriate for real track usage.

The $2000 is for a lot more than just the springs and dampeners, it includes front and rear sway bars, rsms, front camber plates, rear strut tower reinforcements, and sway bar mount reinforcements. I just checked their site and they don't even list a full J-Stock kit anymore, just springs and dampeners sold separately. For just the shocks and springs it was right around $900 shipped.

Well they are certainly gone. Called to see if I could grab the last set but work kept me from doing so. If anyone sees someone selling an old set please let me know :/

I'm sorry to hear that Ryki - it may be possible to go with the J-Stock dampers and use appropriately-rated Ground Control springs. Actually...That sounds like a nice setup!
