That's awesome! Chris hasn't posted since 5/23, not sure if he is still approving new members, I doubt it.

I should install statistics on the archive site. I doubt anyone's hitting it right now. Good thing I did it when I did. I have no time to do it at my new job.

It's a matter of time before tech goes down again. Chris is once again MIA after a week of saying how he was going to be around more.

He banned me after he found out what I was doing (instead of addressing the issue). But after a few weeks, one of the mods contacted me and said they'd let me back in if Chris was still MIA after a few more weeks. So, I'm unbanned now. But tech is very much dead. I feel like it's been dead for so long now. Even if he came back, it would take a lot to bring it back. Kids these days don't want to post on forums. They just want facebook to answer stuff for them.

I'm delving into the E46 world and it's pretty similar too. All of the established threads are from before 2010. The only posts now are people selling/buying stuff. I'm likely going to start my own wiki and give limited access. Not sure that would solve anything. But at least it would keep the information.

Yeah, I feel like there is a dwindling market for tech forums, and r3v has the corner on old BMWs, with Bimmerforums following. Facebook is nice for quick answers, but forums are better for long term documentation. Photobucket put a major hurt on the legacy info out there when they killed free access to the hosted pics, seriously pissed me off. I need to find time to download all my content from there and build my own photo server to host stuff on.

Yea I hate giving other people my stuff. Private hosting is pretty worth it to me honestly. But even then, maintenance is a pain. I hate the cloud but it's just so damn convenient.
