Man, look at this on my cell is a lot different that this! Like yoshi said, that thing looks tiny in there! Compareable to an m42 in an e30 I suppose.

The first start is always nerve racking. right as I turn the key I always begin thinking .... "lets see what I forgot to connect.....". Then is starts and its all good.

I am sure it will be fine. Let us know when the big moment happens!

haha, I know I'll forget something. Made good progress today, got the headers and ignition system in, and I rebuilt the carb compleatly and got it all hooked up including all the fuel lines. My Cherry Bombs shipped today so I should have them by the end of the week.

well I didn't make my goal of firing it up today, but that's only because I don't want to wake the entire neighborhood up. I'm going to top off all the fluids in the morning and give it a shot.

You can see in the pics I have it rigged up so I can start it and set the timing, but I still need to get the body back on before it can be driven.

well, it fired right up today! Well, after fiddling with the starter for like 3 hours until I realized it wasn't grounded well enough. Once it warmed up I was able to get it to fall into a decent idle, but I'm taking to my Uncles so he can fine tune the carb next weekend once I get the body back on.

so it looks like I'll be able to get the e30 back in the shop end of next weekend.

We had a sweet car show up here yesterday. Full of all sorts of American muscle!

it was LOUD, like shaking the neighbors windows loud. I'm working on fabbing up the exhaust today, then I just need to get the front clip back on.

exhaust is done, it quieted down a lot and has a nice health rumble now. I spent all day today trying to get the car tuned but I ran out of jets so now I have to wait until tomorrow. I went down to a 64 primary and 71 secondary and it's still running pig rich, so I need to grab some 60's and 57's to try. I can't believe how over jetted the car was when I got it, it had 76 primaries and 83 secondaries.

ok, update time. I have spent a couple weeks trouble shooting a major vacuum leak to no avail. Basically the car is pulling 5" of vacuum at idle now, and before I pulled it to rebuild it was pulling 13". Since I have BMWCCA Oktober fest coming up at the end of the month I had to put the Chevy on hold.

Finally time to bring the e30 home!
