Maybe it just doesn't exist. Just like the 4cyl 4 speed manual 85 Ford Crustang that I used to have that Ford told me they didn't make. Have you tried contacting BMW directly, or at least a dealership that gives half a damn, to see if they can figure it out for you?
Schwarz 5-speed 87 325is (newest project)
Arktisblau 5-speed 86 325e (current DD)
Schwarz 5-speed 87 325e (parts car/LS1 swap?)

Alpine white 5-speed 87 325is (my first e30, possibly for sale)

^Something like that.

I called BMW US Headquarters and the guy I talked to was super helpful. Basically, he told me it was a special order car from the factory sold March 31, of '86 at Weatherford BMW. Apparently, the dealer is the final word on options records but he saw most of what was on the build sheet as well as one or two other things--it had 5 series matts?!? There were two or three packages he couldn't decipher, which included a sports package. Even that didn't give any real clue as to what it was.

Oddly enough, Weatherford BMW still exists. I may try them but I don't expect anything.

Is it ridiculous that I'm this dialed into the origins of my car?

Oh definitely not, I love digging into the history of my cars. Cleaning out under the back seat of my new one, I found some nasty, moldy business cards that were barely legible. Most people would throw them out immediately, I spent a couple minutes trying to figure out what they said. Turns out my car had been in California at some point in time (most likely)
