I Remember reading that in the magazine. I still don't like 318s.

I <3 M20's.. Although I can certainly appreciate people who enjoy these cars for what they are, I'd only buy a 318 to swap in a s52 or bigger.

I like my M10!
Well when it wasn't running on 3 cylinders I did.

It's more than the M10. Things like the drum rear. It's def the least refined of the E30s.

m20 for sure. I've owned both and the 318 was fun, but always left me wanting more.

Well, I'll add a chip to my M42 and off road it until it breaks. If it breaks before my road going M20 does then oh well and if it doesn't then something must have been done right : )

I've never owned an M42... but I've driven some. The car is slightly more balanced with the 4 cylinder, I'll give you that. But personally, it just doesn't have enough torque to be as fun as an M20. If I ever got an M42 it would be turbocharged.

My m42 was pretty quick, I liked the amount of power it had, just enough for the courses I run locally, but I do agree that it needed a tad more torque.... Just not enough oomph to get it going out of a tight corner. They are definitely momentum cars.
Looking at getting a m20 car now..., maybe.

Really? all I felt from the M42 was "COME ON!!! GOOOOOOOOOOOOOO". Admittedly, the M20 was simply: "*snickers* it's so slow"

Yes, on courses with long straights it was a pain, but I don't run courses like that. We hardly ever get above 50 mph. I literally stay in second gear the whole track so the motor lives right in its power band for most of the course.

I felt that way in corners too. The 318 dove marginally less
