Help me find a new e30!

Postby ten2doyle102 » Mon Sep 16, 2013 3:11 pm

Ok, well I sold the S4... well it will be sold very soon here. A friend of mine is taking it off my hands now, so I am going to replace it with an e30!

I need help finding an e30 that's not a pile of crap. I've been scouring the internet for something decent that's price right. I'd like to spend no more than $2500-$3000 on the car if the condition fits it. No preference on what it is either, 325e, 325i, 318is, etc. The cheaper the better, just not a pile that's gonna need like $5000 worth of work to make it decent. Its going to be my track rat again like my 318is was... so I am not looking for a show car.

Things I look for:

-Not a total rust bucket. I don't mind small amounts of rust, but when the fenders are so rusted out that the things cant even mount to the car anymore...no good.
It should be a 5 spd... though I would consider an auto if its reasonably clean.

-It should run...

-The interior should be somewhat decent.

I am willing to travel for a good one too.

Let me know if you know of anything!

Thanks!

Good luck to you finding one, sounds like your parameters and time frame are nice and open to find the right one : )

or one that maybe someone has personally seen. I hate CL because you never know what it's really going to be like when you get there.... Pictures are all fine and dandy, but sometimes the pictures just make the cars look nice than they really are. I've been searching... every day, all day...lol

lol just messing with you. Most of the cars I buy are from CL. Just got to know how to handle them. I've done it so many times. Most people are nice. At least from my area.

Yeah, they are nice, just unwilling to budge. I got a dude in appleton asking $800 for an auto 325e that doesn't run, has a rust hole in the strut tower and the clear coat is falling off. lol! :)

I got a couple of leads on a 318is in Colombus, IN and another 325ix in Duluth MN.

Thats bad, but you'd probably only need to do it once in the life of the car.

If you had to do it twice, I'm sure you'd junk the car.
