bronze 87 325i or is, not sure. 147,xxx on the clock, but that may have stopped years ago. Starts right up with a jump. When you come off the clutch it squeals VERY loud, but the guy said it drives just fine with the noise. He said the engine is freshly rebuilt, but it doesn't look like it. Too much oil everywhere. Carbon fiber hood (in rough shape), definitely lowered, but I couldn't see the shocks or springs. Comes with 2 cracked dashboards, 2 sets of wheels, and a trunk full of spare parts. He said he wanted to get back the $900 he bought it for, but then called me back an hour later and said he'd take $750. I just spent all my money fixing the blue one. If he said $500 I would have taken it on the spot, but I really don't have any spare cash at the moment.

I meant it squeals when you press the clutch. What could that be? I saw the guy again today and he said he'd take $700 but not a penny less. The body is actually in much better shape than my white 325is.

Heh, I'd buy it for that price in a heartbeat! Then again I'm actually looking for another E30 right now to have wait for me as a project, I may or may not have done everything on my white 325is that there is to do besides an engine swap or a turbo...

Congratulations! -grin- I'm 14.5 years sober! Holy crap this is the longest I've EVER gone without getting trashed!

There's also still the 87 IIRC vert with an m20b25 AND an m50 engine that the guy was asking $700 firm. I need a huge garage somewhere!!!

the clutch squeal is probably just the throw out bearing taking a shit. $700 for a driveable car is a good deal, but figure it's going to need a lot more than $700 to be reliable. If the body is a lot better than your current e30 you could swap your stuff into that chassis, or vise versa, but if that was the intention I think you could find a cleaner chassis for about the same money without a driveline.

The body does look quite a bit better than my white 325is. Not nearly as much rust. I like the white color better than bronze though. I'm still on the fence about the car. If I had a place to store it I would most likely take it for now and decide what I want to do later. I already have my engineless Suburban sitting in my driveway, and all 4 of my e30's at my job. I can't take up a 5th parking space. If I could my Suburban would be here.

Sounds like you need to stop buying new cars and start fixing the ones you got, lol.

lol I know, but I keep finding cheap e30's and it's hard to resist buying them before the prices start going up! I paid less for all 4 that I own together than most people are asking for just 1 of them these days!

Yeah, thats why I gave up the idea of selling mine. The way prices are going for shit boxes I'll never be able to justify buying another one.

And I might be adding 2 more to my collection very soon. Found a late model red 2 door 325i at the junk yard that's complete minus bumpers, hood, and a few things under the hood. It's an automatic, which sucks, but I need a new engine for my white 87 325is, and supposedly it was driven into the yard before the few missing parts went missing. Black interior is in decent shape, even has the keys (which is pretty rare to see in the yards around me). Was thinking about taking out that engine and putting it in my white one, then parting out the rest and scrapping the shell. Minor accident damage behind passenger door.

Then today I came across a nice black 87 325is with almost no rust. The story I'm told is the guys starter died while he was driving down the highway (how does this make any sense at all?!?), so he tied an extension cord around the lift tab thingy on the front of the engine to tow it with his gf's e36. Upon doing this he ripped out the tab, taking out the timing cover, 2 radiator hoses, and the radiator. That story has me a little worried, but the price is right on it in the shape the body is in.

Anyone wanna buy my ultra low mile beige 85 318i so I can have some room? I don't have room for 6 e30's and a Suburban!! :-(

Where in jersey are you? I bet new NYC. Shit, whenever my wife calls me a redneck, I'll just point to you. I only have 4.5 cars in my driveway right now.

Very close to NYC, I'm in Union County. My job is 10 minutes from Newark. Only thing in my driveway is my engineless Suburban and usually one of my roommates cars. I take 1 e30 home with me every night and the other 3 stay at my job. I need to find somewhere else to keep them soon though.
