Possible wheel trade, what do you think?

Postby M20_fever » Thu Apr 10, 2014 11:34 pm

Guy local to me wants to trade some BBS RX for my XXRs, they come with new Dunlop Z2s in 215/40/17.

Kinda leaning towards doing it. It would save me having to buy new tires for the K1s this season which would be a big help budget wise. It would be a step down width wise from my 225/50/16s, but the price it right...

What do you guys think?

looks wise... Iunno. performance wise, I think it's a step down. Plus 17s will make you slower off the line iirc.

I have set of the XXR's and they look amazing.
Are your XXR's 16's or 17's? If they are 16's, wouldn't the larger diameter cost you another point?

No because they are also an inch more narrow so it would cost the same points I'm taking on my k1s.

The RXs are worth much, much more than the XXRs without tires factored in. However, it will affect the car's performance. Are those 17x7.5 or wider? 17x7 = nope.

They are 17x7.5, but the guy seems to be on the fence so I'm not sure it will happen.

I have another guy in Canada that want to buy them but I really don't want to deal with shipping.

I would buy those Gold XXRs in a heartbeat.... Such a pretty rim and my most desired rim (at least for four lug :P). Definitely right about the BBSs being worth more but in terms of performance I can't make a suggestion to someone seasoned such as yourself. You know what's the right weight and diameter. If you wanted you could always move back to the Kosei's?

What tires were you running on the Kosei's again? The 215's on a 7.5" wheel probably are a step down though.

yeah, running 225 star specs on the K1s. Another season would be pushing it with them though, I had them shaved to 5/32 when I bought them.

That's the same size tires I have on my 17's that you said looked way too small. I guess you could always swap on some bigger rubber, but didn't you say if you got those you wouldn't need to get tires? eh

Not an ideal size at all, but they were brand new so running them would have saved me ~$700. Doesnt matter anyway, guy stopped corrasponding so i assume he changed his mind.
