I should give him my pink hoses to go with those pink pedals.

Match made in heaven! That is seriously a confusing build, is it a drag car or a track car? Nitrous and a turbo on an s14? Not really a bad deal is you consider that engine alone is probably $20k+.

96 miles on engine, 1/4 mile at a time, I'm sure. So that's almost 400 hard passes, that engine's probably ready for a complete rebuild. Taking that into consideration I would have to strongly disagree with the engine being worth over $20,000.

Just a stock rebuild on an s14 is $12-14k.

Right, so wouldn't you subtract that from the asking price because 400 trips down the strip, especially running NOS, is pretty hard on an engine. Sounds like we're looking at it from 2 completely different angles here. Or did I read something wrong? The way I read it they rebuilt the engine, then abused the shit out of it at the drag strip for almost 100 miles, running nitrous. How many passes does the average built up engine get before catastrophe? I've seen freshly rebuilt/upgraded engines break in half on their second pass before.

meh, if it was tuned properly NOS isn't that hard on an engine. Obviously the buyer should do some vital checks on the engine, but you couldn't build that car for $35, thats all I'm saying. Honestly, from the way it looks like it's built I doubt its a very good drag or track car.

Either way, if I had $35,000 laying around I'd put it toward a house, not a car. :-P

Thats why I built my car before I had to buy a house, lol. Once you own a house your car budget takes a beating.

As long as the motor checks out in a typical used car inspection (compression, leaks, etc.), I would drop the nitrous and get it to a tuner who can set it up with a nice street tune. You'd have one hell of a street car for the price of a really nice stock M3. I don't think it's been a very serious drag racer. No proper half cage or harness bar setup says this car wasn't running the kind of times you expect from a properly setup 600hp e30.
