I'm sure it's not, but I still cringe. :-P

I just want to keep my work life at work, and my personal life as far away from work as possible. I don't think that's too much to ask.

Cool! I just assumed that since it was e38.org it wouldn't have E32 content, so I didn't even check it. Thanks for the tip!

That would be kinda cool! In the long run though, I'm thinking of an Avus Blue repaint, so I'll probably keep rockin' the faded beige until then.

Ok, so the more I thought about it, the more I liked the idea of a flat black wrap! Problem is, the vinyl is a HELL of a lot more expensive than I last remember. Seems materials alone would cost about $600-$1000. Is it still possible to wrap a car yourself for around $300?

$300?!? Shops around here are charging literally 10 to 25 times that much!

Nah, I'm not talking about a shop doing it, I'm talking about doing it myself. Last I checked (which was, granted, yeears ago) vinyl was pretty darn cheap. I remember reading about people on forums wrapping their cars for $150 - $350 if they did the wrapping on their own. Now it seems to be really freaking expensive... just wondering if I'm looking in the wrong place, or if the cost of materials really has gone up so much.

I know you were talking about doing it yourself. I really hope there isn't THAT much mark up that a shop is going to profit up to $7000 per car they do. For those prices I really see no point in wraps at all. $400 for a shitty Maaco paint job or $1500 for a shitty wrap... I'd take the paint job myself.

Dang, again, last I checked, it was like $2000-$3000 to get it done at a shop. Guess I'm definitely waiting for paint.

You can still DIY for under $500. The quality of the vinyl won't be great, but you you get what you pay for. You just need the vinyl, a good exacto knife, a spray bottle, and a rubber squeegee, make your own application fluid. A cheap heat gun or even hair dryer helps a lot, definitely worth the investment.

That's more along the line of what I'm looking to pay. I'll have to look into it more when I get a job, lol.
