Fs: m42 radiator swap kit for m20, aeromotive FPR, and more

Postby Dontrusthise30 » Fri Dec 07, 2012 4:13 pm

Hello all,
Comes with everything you need to swap an e30 to the radiator with expansion tank mounted on the side. Comes with radiator, tank, cap, correct coolant level sensor, longer plastic seat for holding rad in place, and upper radiator hose from a 5-series. Radiator has a couple bent fins and is otherwise in great condition. It's only 2 years old.

Price: $130 shipped.

Next I have a new George graves wideband o2 gauge. Goes in the place of one of the stock switch blanks above the radio and connects to your wideband system. $90 shipped

Last up is an aeromotive adjustable FPR and stock fuel rail. Fuel rail has the correct fitting welded on and comes with a couple extra fittings. Purchased this from white325is and decided not to use it. $175 shipped

What brand is that brake master? Is there really much of a difference between the 2 different ones I've seen? I honestly can't remember which one I have in my car now, but I know one has a wider push "thing" (can't think of words right now) on the end. It's wide enough that the thinner one can actually fit inside it. I might be interested in yours because I'm sick of replacing them with junkyard parts that keep failing. I'm thinking my car has the thinner one, but not positive. Car is from 3/87 with ABS (until I get around to ripping the whole ABS system out) btw if that helps.
Schwarz 5-speed 87 325is (newest project)
Arktisblau 5-speed 86 325e (current DD)
Schwarz 5-speed 87 325e (parts car/LS1 swap?)
Gazellenbeige automatic 85 318i (70,000 miles)
Alpine white 5-speed 87 325is (my first e30, possibly for sale)

The box says its from UROparts, but I don't know if that's the manufacturer. I honestly don't know much about the master cylinders- only reason I bought it was that I was redoing my brakes. Reason I decided not to use it is because I like the feel stock with the rx7 brakes. And the only thing that matters about the abs is that it has only two ports. So if your MC only has two lines running to it, then this will fit.

Oh man I really want that radiator setup! This is a direct swap for the later style cooling system, with the single outlet waterpump correct? Trying to figure out what I would have to do to swap my early style system over.

Hey man, I replied to your pm before I saw your post. I didn't realize the pre-88's have a different water pump. But honestly if the t-stat is in the same location and your stock rad has a hose to the top driver side and bottom passenger side it should be straight forward for you.

Half way down the page is a how-to and talks about early cooling system mods:

No worries, for anyone thinking about this 130 is the price of the radiator alone. I spend over 200 on everything.

It will as long as yours has two outlets for brake lines. Cars without abs had 3, so it doesn't fit those. Any reason why you think the airbags would play into it?
