New Seat Shocks
New Seat Shocks
I’ve been in contact with a gas shock manufacturer in Europe to make replacements for the three or four shocks in the sport and comfort seats. I couldn’t find an OEM shock under $53, and I couldn’t find a US manufacturer that had a shock with the same dimensions and force. I wasn’t going to pay $400 to get my seats working properly.
I received a sample set and installed them. They work perfectly! The new shocks offer the same range of motion as the originals. The new shocks have 440 newtons of force instead of 350 or 500 of the old ones.
I'm able to offer these new shocks at $22.50 each.
I've put together a website with information, pictures, an installation guide and a place to put in an order. Each order will come with the shocks and push nuts needed to replace the originals. I will fulfill orders in the order I receive them, and won’t ask for any payment until I am ready to ship the shocks and push nuts from Atlanta.

Where on FB did you see it? I _KNOW_ I saw this somewhere. Thought it was here, but this was his first post, and this morning it was listed as a new post. Pretty sure it wasn't on FB that I saw it, but I could be wrong.

Re: New Seat Shocks
I've posted in just about every E30, E24 and E28 FaceBook group to get the word out. I really needed to sell just about all of them to make the costs work out, especially because this was the first run and I didn't know if everyone who signed up ahead of time would follow through. In the end everyone did, and then some. I should have ordered more shocks! I have about four orders worth of shocks left as of right now, and I've gotten a trickle of orders since I sent out all the preorders.

Hrm... The only thing I've done on FB in the past like year is check guten parts page to see if there's any info on the next gfest yet. Perhaps that's where I saw the ad.
