Whatever is easiest for everyone. I will be able to do this year yet no problem, but I daily my car. haha. If you guys have some projects to get done before you can drive them, we'll just wait longer.
OR set the date for this year so you get off your asses and get these cars done!

I got's a great idea fellars. That is if Tony doesn't have other plans again haha.

I was talking to my friend Jim this weekend (Jim Chartre, Matt) Aparently there is an autoX Oct. 14th at Miller Park in Milwaulkee. That's a 4.5 hour drive for me, a bit much for an autoX but if we had a good E30 meetup/party (at Tony's place the night before, ;) it may be pretty fun. Matt, I'm assuming you'll be there anyway since it's a FVSCC event? Look like a fun site from the videos I have seen. Austin, Tony, what do you guys think? Anybody else on here up for that?

I'll have to ask the Wifey, but I doubt that would be a problem. I'm an hour and fifteen from Miller Park (work across the street from there), and I ran that autox last year. It was fun, but a pretty treacherous track with zero runoff area. You screw up your either going into a building sized dumpster, 6" curb, concrete fire pit, or light pole. Saw 2 cars wrecked to the point of not being drivable last year. It was a fun course, I just wasn't comfortable going 10/10ths on it.

So just don't screw up... lol sounds kinda sketchy. Hopefully they will have a better setup this year I guess. How's the surface? The only thing I would really be worried about is if it's dirty/has a bunch of gravel on it, you hit that stuff with slicks and your along for the ride.

Ummm not sure? Haha if your going then I probly will as well. There is a BMWCCA event at the Tire Rack the day before, not sure if I/we could go down for that and just find a place to spend the night between there and Chicago.

The surface was clean and smooth. SCCA runs there a bunch, so it's a proven site, just not what I picture when I think of parking lot stuff, ya know? There were people in the points race for FVSCC that were FLYING through the course. I was just there for fun so didn't want to risk the car. There was a thread here somewhere where I posted an airial shot of the course, and Matt posted some pics and vids from the event, can't find it now though.

I have pics an vids. The two crashes that did happen were kinda weird. One guy smoked a dumpster that was a decent distance away from the track an the other guy I am not really sure how he hit the curb. I know Tony make it sounds bad, but I feel if the course is setup well, it's fine. Last year they put a few areas into the course that were really tight probably where they shouldnt have. Way I figure it, no way it can be any less safe than were I normally do events...

Either way, it's a good time.

I've been a liscensed SCCA safety steward and designed a couple courses, so I definitely know how tough it can be to make something that will be safe for everyone. That said, Miller Park is more than fine as a safe site, and I would like to think I'm not one of the drivers you would have to worry about messing up that badly lol.
