Diff options.
Diff options.
I came from an S13 and the vlsd was garbage, so i always ran a welded. I am running a welded medium 4.10 now with my m20. I like it but now that the S52 swap is getting closer and closer i will have to swap diffs. I would love to run a healthy stock diff but i need to know if it worth my time.
basically welded, stock clsd, or other? pros and cons.
no offense, but I dont care for the opinion of someone that doesnt drift at events or at least alot of street drifting.

Re: Diff options.
I've had no problem locking up the rear with a clutch type stock LSD. Just get an LSD with the ratio you want and be happy. 3.25 should be good for you.

Status: HG repair. 488wtq though!
Re: Diff options.
i was hoping you would post. do you still think i should go with a 3.25 if i am sticking with the getrag 260 for now?
also do you if other e30 drifters also use stock clsd. i am just worried about consistency.

Re: Diff options.
3.25 should be fine with that tranny.
There is no problem with a stock LSD. I've had no problems with mine in the past. Even consistency is great with the stock LSD. But I hate welded diffs so I'm biased.

Re: Diff options.
I have drifted with both welded and stock clsd and the clutches lock up real smooth and I love it.
I say Clsd.
I say Clsd.
Re: Diff options.
3.25 would suit, even a 3.46 would be nice for the track..

Re: Diff options.
3.46 maybe but I think you can find a 3.25 lsd easier. The difference really isn't THAT big.

Re: Diff options.
can't you get lsd clutch upgrades to increase the lockup on these diffs? I thought I saw some upgrade clutches for sale somewhere...

Re: Diff options.
you have to mod the diff yourself to do it. It isn't easy IIRC and I havent seen one actually do it yet.
