Why do away with what is stock and works?

Lots of people go from open to welded and suck initially. Its just learning a new system. I ran a welded for 2 years then switched to a KAAZ 2way. I do agree that a rebuilt LSD is a great idea, there are lots of ratios available for these cars and its not hard/expensive to rebuild them. But if it doesnt work, it will really REALLY hinder your progress.

I don't have enough experience with them to deny it. I agree that its the way to go.

Have you driven an E30 with a 2way?

stock is a 2 way... you mean an aftermarket 2 way? I've driven a bunch of S13/S14 2 ways. No diff minus the clack clack clack the 240 ones make.

oh damn... I posted in it >_<

CL doesn't allow stock LSDs? wtf is up with that? So all the drifting I've been doing this year is bad to them?

edit: I need to take my own advice and stop posting...

welded or after market 2 way. Which. Admittedly makes sense for most nissan guys. Their clutch LSDs suck from the factory. But BMW/Porsche LSDs are kick ass in stock form. I find it amusing they wouldn't let me drift in B group with my current setup.

That's retarded. What difference does it make. If you can drift it with that setup and drift it well, why should you be penalized because of it?

*shrugs* CL is very structured. They produce good drivers. So there is a reason to their rhyme. I just don't always agree with it.

....sigh....

You guys gotta understand Petty and Tim. They told me at the end of last season that if my car wasnt kitted and painted by next year, that I would be sent back to B group lol. They also put out a mandate last month that people with flat black wheels will no longer be allowed to drive.

The LSD thing mainly pertains to S chassis cars. The stock VLSD will work....for one or two runs. Once it gets hot it turns into an open diff. Once that happens, newbie drivers turn into Spinderela. We get a lot of people at our events and want to give everyone seat time. If some jackass with an open diff is out there spinning 3 times a run and mowing down cones because he has no control, not only is he going to take everyone elses time, but hes not gonna learn. Its a loose/loose situation.

That being said, not many E30s are at our events. They might perform beautifully on a rebuilt stock diff, I really can't say. But if you go out there and shit it up, yes, your gonna get ragged on and "penalized" because you are taking away everyone elses seat time, and that's fucked.

If you tried to go base-jumping with a tablecloth parachute, wouldn't you want someone to stop you?
