very nice. I've been looking at some carry pistols, but this market is going nuts. I just can't bring myself to pay 40% over list because everyone is freaking out.

Yeah its a crazy market right now. Some stuff is higher here. Mainly the ar's, ak's, and those like them. The ammo for them too. But pistols and normal stuff is pretty much the same as normal. What have you been looking at to carry? I know illinois gun laws are kinda crazy and I don't know how the market is up there.

I think that ammo is harder to find right now than guns lol.

Illinois won't have a carry law for at least a few more months. Just been window shopping really. I'm torn between a revolver or semi-auto.

I was too at first. I favor revolvers more now though. Believe it or not my revolver is more comfortable for me to carry and it is easier for me to draw. Revolvers do have capacity limitations and reloads are a little slower. But train properly and make your rounds count and the capacity isn't a problem. Neither are reloads if you train with speed loaders or speed strips. I like my semi auto pistols too though. I just like the simplicity of a revolver a little better.

The stock and pistol grip was made by tapco. I'm not sure exactly what kind of polymer it is. They were cheap. There are definately better quality stocks. But I wanted something to get it converted cheaply. Then later on I can upgrade the furniture and make it more like the ak. This stock isn't perfect quality but they feel like they will work fine. Its an ak so its ok to look a little tore up haha.

This is all I did to it.

-Moved the trigger group forward to the proper place.
-Welded the unneeded holes and smoothed them.
-Welded the triggerguard together to look like the standard one piece of the ak. It isn't perfect but it came out better than I expected.
-painted the reciever with a high temp paint and cured it in the oven. It was cheap and turned out ok. It might end up looking war torn haha. I can improve on it later. I just wanted it all black.
-installed new trigger
-pistol grip and stock
-modified the mag catch to take regular ak mags

I still have to install the muzzle brake and the bullet guide. Otherwise its done for now. It sounds like alot but it wasn't too bad. It was definitely worth it.:)
