Re: Guns
It is a replica of the old 1851 colt navy cap and ball pistol. Made by pietta in italy. Very nice! They are on sale from cabela's right now. This one was arond $195 to my door
. It is black powder and shoots a 44cal round ball

Re: Guns
Neat thing is that most places here in the states don't even consider these firearms. No paperwork and shipped directly to the door
. Guess they figure no one would do anything illegal with something like this. With the newer technology. They aren't as powerful and take a while to reload but they worked back in the civil war days and the gunfighter days. I think they can still be effective if used properly. The main reasons I got it is that it was cheap, black powder isn't as effected by all the gun control scares, and I think its gorgeous. This is my first black powder firearm of any kind.

Re: Guns
I like the concept and that makes a lot of sense, I just know germany even considers airsoft guns to be full blown rifles. I'll have to look forward to something like that later : )

Re: Guns
That sucks. It also sucks that there are people here in the state that push to take these rights away. Georgia is a good state. I'm sure you will have some fun when you get back haha.
Here are a few more pics

The brass and wood are very nice. The downside to the brass frame is that it is softer that steel. You have to keep to the lighter loadings or it can damage the brass frame. No problem though, I've heard the reduced loads are more accurate anyways. It points very naturally and the noise it makes when cocking the hammer is intoxicating.

Re: Guns
Nice wall hanger for sure. Probably couldn't hit the side of a barn from the inside with it though. :p

Re: Guns
I've been watching videos of people shooting them and they are quite accurate for what they are. I've been hearing of people hitting their targets pretty easily at 30 yards and more. The groupings on the videos I saw were pretty much on par with modern pistols. It is a rifled barrel so essentially it should be. Only difference is you have to load each cylinder individually, the powder differences, and the round ball. You might be surprised at what they are capable of. When I get to shoot it I'll have to post how it does.

Will do buddy. I'm not sure when that will be. I have to find some powder, percussion caps, and bullets haha.
