Haha yep. This is a modern replica of an older design. I can't afford any of the originals haha. There is something about the older stuff though. Makes you feel close to history and how things used to be done. I enjoy it. The new plastic and black rifles are fun but none of mine have the character of the older designs and military stuff. The old bolt actions, lever actions, and black powder stuff are the most fun firearms I own.

Man that thing is cool. Have you had a chance to fire it yet? How's the recoil?

I still have to source some powder. I haven't been able to find it locally yet being that it isn't muzzleloader season. The only one I've found was a black powder substitute called triple seven. Good stuff but pretty expensive at $30 a pound. I can order it offline but I have to save enough to order in bulk. There are hazardous material shipping fees to ship it. Because real black powder is considered an explosive. The substitutes and smokeless powder are considered propellants. Recoil shouldn't be bad. No worse that my mosins, 30-06, or 12ga shotguns. I'll have to post some pics of the components used to shoot one. I have the caps and the round ball already. Just need the powder and some patches. I have to get some tools as well. A powder measure, powder flask, and some other do dads.

They are pretty cool. Simple, yet effective. They make quite a smoke and fire show when fired too. Especially flintlock models. Another neat thing is here in sc there is no background checks for blackpowder stuff. Just pay and walk out. :)

One shot is plenty :). With the revolver there are six shots :). Guess thats why the old gun fighters carried so many pistols.

Go for it! Its a little frightening the first time you go but after a few shots you will be hooked. Super fun. Just follow all safter procedures and wear ear and eye protection. Did your friend say what yall would be shooting?
