I know what it's like working on jack stands, did that for a few years until I was working for a shop that let me use the lifts after hours for my own stuff. I've done engines in the dirt on hills in the middle of the night. Always fun. If anyone was closer I would help out and lend a hand.

Looking good! Did anything get damaged when it fell?

oh, I get it lol. I had the Chevelle engine almost come crashing down when one of the chains slipped on the hoist, seriously stopped 1/2" from the concrete. It came down so hard the 2x4" steel tube that the hoist arm was made out of visibly flexed.

I had a similar issue when I did my first engine swap. I bought a brand new adjustable lift plate similar to this:
Image

And the nut on the threaded rod wasn't welded on so it came apart when I turned it to the front and slammed the engine into my radiator support on my old 84 camaro. The engine was ok and the core support was easy to straighten out. Damn near took off 2 fingers I had on the lift plate to keep it steady as it was going in. I felt the buzzing of the threads going through the end and moved my hand just in time. I gave it away after I welded the ends up. What a piece of junk.

I had a cheap Chinese load leveler just like that and the nut came off the same way, it went straight in the scrap heap.

Finally got some more monies to continue on the project

Started setting up the wiring and mounted in the iX booster, need to find a master cyl.

Need to extend the wiring for the 20 pin adapter and attach the B+/ground cables as well as mount the DME.

Got the belt on and set up the cooling hoses:

Its not too bad, I pulled the cover off the e36 harness and I removed 1 8 gauge wire for the e36 fusebox power supply, the e30 has a separate one for its fusebox. Then only 10 wires to extend 6 inches for the 20 pin. Once I get the cover on the firewall it will look factory. Also hoping to get the intake on today.

I was pretty paranoid about the wiring catching fire if I happened to have screwed up at C101.
I started it and kept pointing an iR thermometer along the harness in case it shorted out.

I don't think that's very likely. Plus that's what fuses are for.
