My first car was a 1970 AMC Javelin SST with a three speed on the column and a 304. Car was a great car to me and still is, I never got rid of it and still have it back in Texas. She's still mostly all original, rebuilt the transmission and motor and she's a beauty on the highway. I am having a seriously longing to work on her.

Missing my 89 325is though, car is perfect and then price/rarity of one here makes me want it that much more. Looking forward to racing/working on it when I get back. Gotta be happy in Germany though, ain't no way not to.

That's what popped into mind when I read that, but having that on a Camry seems odd.

I had an 87 Camry, and I know they didn't come with that option (nor did they offer the v6 in 87), but I seem to remember hearing about 4ws available in later years. Why does that seem odd to you? They offered it in all kinds of cars in the late 80's and early 90's. I wonder why they don't do it anymore. I know the Mazda MX-6 and Honda Prelude had 4 wheel steering as an option around those years, so why not the Camry?

Because the MX6 and Prelude were both marketed as luxury/sport coupes, the Camry is one of the most bland cars world wide. And 4WS isn't exactly cheap to just throw in a car.

Your bland comment offends me. lol. I loved that boxy 87 (but slightly less boxy than the previous model). It WAS luxury compared to some of their other vehicles. :-P
