The Diff between tech and r3v
Re: The Diff between tech and r3v
Nah, physics isn't hard just like math isn't, it just takes some understanding and a good teacher/learning environment. I definitely hope to remedy things a little if I can ever get back into teaching! And, as I say with everything, its all up to how much time and effort you put into it. Its amazing with what a lot of people here accomplish with some research and effort in time spent.

Re: The Diff between tech and r3v
I think I'd generally agree with you that the physics of mechanics isn't terrible difficult. I just meant that I haven't had the same training or experience. I get why you need certain wiring and components in an electrical system but I don't always understand why there's an extra washer, bolt spring or gear. I know there's generally a reason for it (maybe not always) but I just don't know what that reason is.
That's one of the reason why I'm lurking this forum at the moment. There are several of y'all that do know, further have that knowledge applied to my car and best, are willing to share that knowledge.
Are you teaching in the military?

Nope, I made the mistake of getting out of teaching and getting in the military. Got lucky enough to go to Germany last least

Yeah, I spent 4 years in the Navy. In a land based Squadron. 11 days on my sea counter, which were spent 100 miles off the coast of California cruising in circles while our pilots qualified for carrier duty.

Re: The Diff between tech and r3v
Lol, quite the opposite of my brother in law. He's been at sea more than home for almost two years, that and a few navy friends that can barely stay on land for some reason

And that's why I was never gonna join the Navy... just the thought of the high possibility of being stuck on a ship for loooong periods of time scared me away. I'd rather travel by plane, lol.

I'd rather travel by ship than by plane any day! If a ship goes down there's still a chance you can swim to safety... On the other hand, if a plane goes down there's no way you're gonna learn to fly.

Chances are anywhere a Navy ship goes down your not swimming out of.

Titanic
. To be honest i have never really traveled by boat or plane. But I don't think I would like being on a boat for months at a time. I dont have to worry about that though. The military probably wouldn't take me even if I wanted to. Too many health issues.

Re: The Diff between tech and r3v
Well, I was on an aircraft carrier so that means two things:
1. The chances of it sinking is highly unlikely (yeah, I heard the Titanic jokes already).
2. There's a whole fleet of support ships with in spitting distance to scoop you up if it does sink (unlike the Titanic).
I'd still prefer to travel by plane. Unless the boat is the point, they're to slow--get me there already!!!

I've never really been crazy about being in water. Eespecially deep water. I hated not knowing what was under me haha.

Lol same thing here, not a big fan of deep water. I joined the Air Force but I have been and will always be subordinate to the Army as it seems, so I get their transportation, which means I'd rather take the boat... : )

I'm not a good swimmer, so I'd die either way. I just don't wanna be stuck living on a ship, lol.87e30 wrote:I'd rather travel by ship than by plane any day!
