I'm 99% sure if it's stock it's a small case diff, only type that came in the 318is's. I'd definitely be interested as well if Nick doesn't want it, can't seem to find an LSD over here for shit... I'd also be interested in any sensors like cps etc, I certainly want spares in case mine fail again.... It's also too bad shipping is a beast/I can't drive up or I'd be interested in the hood and trunk as well as the entire drive train (trans, engine, diff, driveshaft etc.) as I happen to have a wiring harness and would like to rebuild a motor while I could still drive the car :P

If it's a small case like Ryki is saying (and that sounds correct to me) I would definitely take it. Hell maybe even drive over there for it with the time I have off in the next couple weeks. I should steal the whole drivetrain from you and ditch this M10 lol.

If you do that.... I'll give you a sweet deal on it. I may require a little assistance getting it out though. :) Again, sweet deal.

Lol is this sweet deal for just the diff or the whole shebang? Haha I really shouldn't swap this car... would be a kinda pathetic swap for my first one haha. Then I would actually become attached to this car and want to keep it and wind up with 2 money pits... ugh. I was actually thinking last night, a good buddy of mine is from Sheboygan, I could probably ask him to work something out to pick up the diff while he is home for Xmas. But, the proposition of bowchickawawa is pretty damn tempting... ;)

Just want it to be known how much I hate you now Matt. My head is spinning with all sorts of terrible ideas. I have a whole IS suspension that could bolt up under there, vert front sway, etc. They call the 318is a poor mans M3, and well, I'm a poor man so this would totally be fitting. UGH SO MANY BAD THOUGHTS RUNNING THROUGH MY HEAD!!!

LOL! Just for clarity sake, when you say whole shebang, you are referring to just the drivetrain i.e. engine, trans, driveshaft, diff etc. etc., right? Not the entire car, right?

No, i'd hook you up with the whole drivetrain. A friend of mine here wanted the harness, but if you want the whole swap then that will have to stay with it.

Will you need the shifter assemblies and stuff?

The kid that bought my 318is is swapping a turbo m50 in it now... he might be sell the 8lb aluminum flywheel I had on that.... :) :) Not to add more fuel to the fire...lol

Sorry for all the ideas! :)

By whole shebang I meant everything I would need to get it running in my car. Engine, trans (think M10 G240 has a different bell housing than M42 G240), driveshaft (?), diff, shifter (no idea if the same), engine/trans mounts/brace, wiring and ECU, hmm probably would need cruise control stuff too if I wanted that to work. I would like the radiator either way, I've wanted one for my 325 if it didn't go in the 318. Not really sure what else I would need to make the swap work.

What's the mileage on everything? You said you were told it runs great, have you had a chance to start it and see? Could you shoot me a pm with what you would want for the whole swap? Still wrestling with whether or not it makes sense to dump a bunch of time/money in a car I bought with the intention of NOT doing that so I could spend more time/money on the 325 lol.

Flywheel would be cool but I'll pass. This car is still a beater that isn't worth a bunch of fancy parts lol.
