Which is the case 100% of the time. What I meant was when you call, what company actually answers the phone and hooks you up with the tow company? BP doesn't do it themself. For example, if you have Nationwide insurance, and you call for a tow, even though you THINK you might be talking to Nationwide on the phone, it's actually Agero that takes the roadside assistance call, and they call the local company for you.

On another note. I got rear ended again not once, but TWICE while waiting in Holland tunnel traffic coming back to NJ! First time was right over the Brooklyn bridge after the first traffic light. I'm at a dead stop and I felt the truck jerk. I flagged down the traffic cop and said the car behind me just hit me, he looked at it and instructed me to keep driving and don't worry about it. I saw the front of her silver Volvo a few minutes later and it didn't look like she had any damage so fuck it. The next time was about 30-45 minutes (and a whole 2 blocks) later. The driver of the van in the left lane fell asleep behind the wheel, so everyone was trying to get into my lane. The cops rushed over to the van to check on the guy, and when I was just passed it I felt the truck jerk again. This time a silver Nissan. The driver didn't seem concerned about it so I just kept it moving. A little passenger car isn't gonna do any damage to a hardened steel wheel lift. I've been rear ended by an 18 wheeler before because he was too busy looking at the girl's tits in the car next to him to realize I was stopped at a red light. He folded his huge shiny chrome bumper in half and I didn't have a scratch.

I really don't get how people keep hitting you. It's not like you're driving a camo fiesta or something.

You should really call them and find out what company is handling it. It's a good thing to know if you ever actually need to use the service in an emergency. Unfortunately there is a lot of dishonest towers out there and it could end up costing you thousands. Just today I picked up a car from CT. The tow company made me sign a statement saying that I could not maneuver my truck in their storage yard, so they charged an extra $88 to "tow" it out to the street for me. First off, their yard is HUGE and empty. You could drift an 18 wheeler in their yard. Secondly, they DROVE the car out to the street before I even got there. They wouldn't even tell me anything until I signed that statement. It's not my money, so I really don't care. I do hope the company that pays us goes after that tow company for fraud. That was only $88, but I've heard of people getting hit with $15,000 bills because of dishonest tow companies.

I'm tellin ya, the more lights my boss puts on our tow trucks the more often we get hit. These stupid drivers are like moths to a flame! They get all "ooooooooh, pretty lights" distracted and just crash for no reason.

The wheel lift used to be painted red to match the L-arms that you can see under the bed. How everyone can't see that bright blue/yellow bed and keeps running into me I'll never know.

Who ever BP uses sucks, I can tell you that much. Trying to explain where you are to some dud in India is frustrating. I always get the towing companies name from them and call them directly after I get off the phone with the motor club, and 99% of the time they gave the towing company the wrong directions to get to me. Really, unless I am using them for a non-emergency tow to get a vehicle to or from my garage I usually go direct to the tow company and submit my receipt for reimbursement. That only covers 60% if the tow company is out of network but it's better than waiting two hours for a tow.

Next time you use their service ask the tow driver which company sent the job to them. They're usually more than happy to tell you.

Will do. I'll be having my Dad's Jag towed to my house in the next few weeks, I'll ask then.
