Beretta 84F Assembly in Solidworks
I started this project to demonstrate my abilities in Solidworks to potential employers. I spent a little over 2 weeks on this, disassembling the pistol, measuring every part, modeling it, assembling it, and creating this video. This was created without any blueprints, all measurements were done by me with a digital caliper. I figured I'd share the project here as some people may find it interesting.
If you have access to a copy of Solidworks, you can download the actual assembly files at GrabCAD: https://grabcad.com/library/beretta-84f-1
I've also entered this into the Dassault 2016 Project of the Year. You can vote for me here: http://apps.facebook.com/11935290206651 ... 2928795342
There's some really great projects that have been submitted, so I doubt I'll come close to winning, but finishing in the upper 50% would be nice.
I had to reduce the workload a bit to be able to enter this into the Dassault Project of the Year competition, so I haven't modeled some of the smaller parts in the slide and frame that are more complicated to remove, but I hope to get to them later on to update the project on GrabCAD. Deciding if I'm going to do that first, or start making drawings of what I've already done.

Not bad, do you have your CSWP? I manage around 100 seats of SW, Simulation, Photoworks, and Composer. The new Visualizer in 2016 looks pretty cool too, though I hate the new UI colors. Voted.

Re: Beretta 84F Assembly in Solidworks
Nice looking project! I've only gotten my CSWA through one of my classes last semester so far. I'll probably look into getting my CSWP after this semester is over. I've only used SW2016 once, during an interview, and the new look threw me for a loop at first, lol. Thanks for the vote! I think my next project will be a racing simulator cockpit, I've been meaning to build my own for a while now.

Re: Beretta 84F Assembly in Solidworks
There are fairly complete models of an m20bb25 floating around. I think I have them on my hard drive. I've done some modeling for other members to design coil brackets and such for stand alone installs and such. You can set the 2016 UI to classic mode now. So many people complained they put it in sp2. I wish I had access to a hand held laser scanner, I really wanted to scan the engine bay of the e30, drop the m20 model in and do forced induction design with it. Are you located anywhere near Taylors? We have an engineering/gearbox rebuild facility there.

Cool! Taylors, SC? Yeah, I live about 40 minutes from there. I'm in Greenville quite a bit, and have friends out in Taylors.

Why doesn't someone use their 3d modelling skills to design a 24v m20 head?

Re: Beretta 84F Assembly in Solidworks
I imagine the cost of a custom designed M20 24v head would be far greater than hiring a quality shop to do an M50/S50 engine swap.

Re: Beretta 84F Assembly in Solidworks
I'm sure some people would do it anyway.
lol, reminds me of some lyrics (if I heard them correctly) "You got v12, I got 12v"

Re: Beretta 84F Assembly in Solidworks
designing it would be the easy part. Considering it would need to be fully CNC'd to make one, or even 20 since the cost of making castings is huge, it wouldn't be worth the effort or investment. There was a guy in Norway that modified a m50 head to wok on an m20. His racing class only required you keep the stock block, anything else was fair game so he made a 24v m20.

I've learned it's inevitable on an E30 forum, lol. I'm also curious though, I tried to find a thread about it on Google but with no luck.87e30 wrote:But did he get great gains from it? Sorry for threadjacking.

Re: Beretta 84F Assembly in Solidworks
I've heard people talk about TRYING to make an m50 head work on an m20, but gave up because it was supposedly impossible. Never knew someone actually did it.

Re: Beretta 84F Assembly in Solidworks
No idea on power, but I would assume it's similar to an s50 in that configuration.M20b25 engine block with S50b32 (E36M3) cylinder head .. Protest Safe DMSB group H15 engine
Nearly 1,000 hours of working time for planning and implementation .. Over 2 years.
But for now I've got a unique engine ...
It was supported by a forged crankshaft with 86mm stroke and connecting rods H ...
Schmiekolben according to my specifications ..
dry sump pump ...
Freiprogramirbarem KMS controller ....
airbox ...
2Scheiben AP sintered metal clutch Nought Nothing was left out.
What can I say about the performance ....
SUFFICIENT .)))
Comments about this is, please save any M20 block and look closely!
