Re: I'm beginning to hate my E30...
Doyle, why 130 for the clutch? I bought Bar's Leaks head gasket leak shit...if it doesn't work, I will have my mechanic do my head shit. I've got a lttle bit of money right now, not enough for the header shit yet. I can't sell this shit....it puts a hole in my heart, I've got the E30 bug <_<

Re: I'm beginning to hate my E30...
That stuff won't work. you really need to replace the head gasket. http://www.pelicanparts.com/cgi-bin/kse ... 59-240-M17$73 for the head gasket kit, $100 at a machine shop to clean adn plane your head. Do the work yourself and your car is running again for $173! Although, you should replace the timing belt with a timing belt kit while your in there but you can do that later. It's cost effective, you just have to do the work yourself.

Re: I'm beginning to hate my E30...
Clutch has been replaced already I'm looking on this stuff for a temp. fix until I can scrape up the money to buy parts. I will NOT touch that shit, but I've got a mechanic friend that will gladly do it for a hundred bucks.

Re: I'm beginning to hate my E30...
why won't you touch it yourself? not like youll break it.
Temp fixes are bad... don't drive the car, youll make it worse.

Ya these things are pretty easy to work on car wise, so it's a great way to start plus if you have any questions we're there to help talk you through what ever. The more pictures you can take the better our help can be too. You'd be amazed what you can do by just trying.

I am afraid of brekaing it. I'd really feel more comfortable with having someone who knows what's going on do it; I don't need to break more shit..

Re: I'm beginning to hate my E30...
I can honestly say its really not too diffcult. If I had worked at it, I probably could have had the head off and back on in 7-8 hrs. But i took my time with it so yeah, that turned into a 2 month thing! Lames has a point. Realistically, you'd have to do something pretty silly to screw it up!

Re: I'm beginning to hate my E30...
you can only break it if you don't time it right putting it back on. otherwise, worst case could be leaks. We have write ups and such to make sure you do it right.

Take your time and there is no reason to why it can't be done in a weekend and done right. Not to mention after you did it, you can say hey, I did that! which is an awesome feeling in its self.

Auto/diesel/industrial tech. Still not doing the head job! Betsy felt like starring in some photos this evening, unfortunately her younger lesbian Volvo lover, Rita, couldn't be in them as well! Yay!

So your training to be an auto tech and you won't even consider doing a head gasket?
