Well, I need to make more money, and I need something I can do on the side because I do like my main job. I think this would be a good option for me. (<---Web site stuff) I figure I can do this on the side to help the E30, the house and everything else fund.

I don't know a whole lot about web site stuff. Other than what I've picked up via w3schools.com and what Yoshi has helped me with.

I really need to light a fire under my ass and try to learn this stuff. I figure worst case if this whole granite thing doesn't work out I need a fall back. Plus I can't work for anyone, I'm too thick headed to do so.

What do you guys think/know.

I think I could be pretty good at it if I was to really try to learn it. I like playing with code, I like to draw and have an art background. I think maybe that would be a good background to get into it with. I would love to make a good bit of money.

you don't need to incorporate for basic free lance stuff. if it starts getting big you should tho.

Do I have to worry about legal stuff though?

keep a copy of your work and put a little tag in it so you can prove its your work. otherwise, not really. kinda like art you know?

I need to learn CSS and get a better feel for it. So I can make a proper page.

This weekend I'm going to try to make a new website for the granite shop I work in. The old one, which was made by a guy here that said he knew what he was doing failed the other day when the browsers got their updates, not to mention it never worked on firefox. lol I told them it was going to do that also that google and all the other search engines wouldn't find it. No META tags in it. Then after it goes down they are like ok we need your help. /sigh

imo metatags are useless. Search engines don't really use them that much anymore because people abused them.

google site maps are where its at. its an xml listing of your site that google uses to index.

Ya I can see how the meta tags got abused. I saw a little bit about a SEO services I thought it had something to do with that I never really looked into that much. Looks like I shall have to do some snooping. Thanks Yoshi!

you really don't want to pay for seo services. they do so little. just learn how to do it yourself and be happy.
