BMW enters the world of WRC

Postby BavarianSlide » Thu Dec 16, 2010 3:42 pm

Im not too sure how many have seen but BMW will be entering the WRC through Mini.

IMO I think the car looks awesome! BMW motorsport has created the "1.6 litre fourcylinder Di turbo-charged engine" that will power this little Mini. Im interested to see how a diesel will perform in a predominantly gasoline engine series.

Di = Direct injection, not diesel. It will be cool nonetheless.

You know somewhere along the lines I think a buddy of mine told me it was diesel, and I would've swore that it was a diesel. Somehow I think I was wishing in my mind it was a diesel and was reading along talking myself into that it was a diesel lol. feel like a tard now but thanks for the heads up on that one.

I drove an S a few years ago and to be honest, I was not all that impressed. Handling was meh, and acceleration was lacking. It lagged like a big turbo, I put my foot down and wait for the rush, but it never really came.

Yeah, but that's a stock mini. Something tells me that this car would be a helluva alot different.... ;)

better than a dumbass I guess.

Obviously nothing about that WRC Mini is stock. If they made that car an AWD it would be straight baller, but I just can't get off on a front wheel drive car.

That would be pretty baller... I'd be snow drifting all over the place. RWD is nice for that, AWD is so much more fun in the snow. But you're right, FWD does still suck.
