Re: good deal on racing seats?
Dunno about your racing series tech but real racing seats are fixed back. Those aren't "real" seats.

Status: HG repair. 488wtq though!

Not bad at all. I like the looks. Any info on the quality? Or reviews from other buyers? There are alot of these style seats on ebay. You can even get them through summit and jegs racing supply.

I don't think adjustable back will be an issue in tech. I wonder how heavy they are. The seller has 4000+ transactions and 98+% feedback. Would like to read an actual review of them though.

Re: good deal on racing seats?
One of summit racing supplies seats is listed as 33lbs. They are of similar design so I would expect the seats your looking at to be around that weight as well. It might not be the exact same but thats the ballpark number for them.

Re: good deal on racing seats?
Has anyone weighed stock sport seats? From taking them in and out I know they are heavy as hell, so these may be a bit of weight savings.

Re: good deal on racing seats?
I haven't weighted them to know exactly but I know they are very heavy. From other weight threads that I've read most people estimate their weight at around 37-40lbs.

Those aren't racing seats though. They are racing STYLE seats. Why not get real stuff? The kind that weights like 1/16th stock.

Re: good deal on racing seats?
mostly because those seats cost more for one than both of these. I would love some real nice racing seats, but that's won't be in the budget for some time. If these are slightly lighter and provide better lateral support than the stock seats they may be worth it to run them for a couple years until I can swing nicer ones.

Re: good deal on racing seats?
If its a dedicated race car then thats the way to go. But if it is also a road car that is raced sometimes then they are a happy medium.
Is your car a dedicated race car tony? I know you race it alot. But as you said too the real race seats are expensive.

it's a 98% track car, but it does see street duty a couple times every summer.

Re: good deal on racing seats?
The seats would probably work fine. And when you do switch to full racing seats you can put these in the chevelle
