I think what he's trying to say, Nick, is if you bought those m3 springs from me, your life would then become problem-free.

More roll resistance(Springs and bars),Increase negative camber, Lower center of gravity.
You have to turn your car into a racecar, like Tony's.
The tyre wear shows that you are too fast for the current set up of the car...seriously.

Results are up from Grattan (well they may have been for a while, I just remembered to check today finally) I ended up 25th overall out of 93 on PAX, not too bad for my first time on a legit road course with a bunch of fast drivers.

So I've been kinda lazy and never updated from last weekend. We had a local autoX, much smaller lot than I have been running recently, but still fun, and pretty technical. I had a great time, car performed pretty well. Only real issues I had was one particular corner where the inside rear wheel was picking up, and rendering the LSD useless while I was trying to put down the power. Oh, and there were a couple sections that really had me wanting a tighter ratio steering rack... But oh well, that will be taken care of this winter.

I was pretty consistent time wise all day, only 1 second variation between my fastest and slowest run over 5 runs total. Had a couple in the low 45 second mark, was shooting for a 44. Found it on my last run, but also found a cone right at the finish, same cone I had been scaring all day haha. I knew it too, looked in the rear view after I crossed the line and yelled "NOOOOO!" as I knew it was a fast run. Ah well, next year we'll be faster ;)

Ended up 6th overall on PAX out of 78, I was very pleased with that! PAX results here:
http://www.furrin.org/Results/tabid/56/ ... 52012.aspx

Also ended up 15th by raw (non-adjusted) time, which I was also very happy with, as my car is supposed to be the 2nd slowest glass out there lol. Raw results here:
http://www.furrin.org/Results/tabid/56/ ... fault.aspx

And won my class out of 8, but seeing as I was the only one on R-comps, I would have been pretty embarrassed if I hadn't lol. Results here:
http://www.furrin.org/Results/tabid/56/ ... fault.aspx

Video someone took of my last run, if you look close enough you can see the cone I got right at the finish.

And some GoPro footage for your viewing pleasure.

Nick's 2012 Autocross Thread.

Nice driving, it's sad, but when you start upgrading everything, maintaining the same pax finish will be harder it seems. I remember when I ran my e46, that thing dominated the track, it was awesome. Low pax number too so it helped enormously. My 325ix was very uncompetitive against the people I was racing against.

I feel that if you really want to win, it seems like a stock car on race rubber is the way to go!

That or you have to have lots of $$$, and the right car for whatever class you run in. Like there is seriously one car, and one car only that will dominate a class, and you have 0 realistic chance if you don't have that car.

Which does suck, I will totally agree. I do feel like I can make my car pretty competitive in STX, which is where I plan on going next year. But what kinda bugs me is that if I want to stay 100% competitive the whole time I'm running, I will have to throw everything on the car all at once. But, I would really like to do things indivually, to see what effect they have, etc. And that would even help figure out how to fine tune things on the car once everything is installed. But it is what it is, all I know is I want to go faster haha.

I hear you there. Its annoying and its kind of why I like the points system a bit more. I friend with an elantra automatic had to run in ST because he had a rear strut bar. LOL Nothing else but that. Whatever, rules are rules I guess.

I run in STX now and I find that I can be pretty competitive in it for the most part. My biggest competition seems to be a guy running a WRX that setup really well. He's always got me by like 1 sec min. Next year I'll be going to RS3's and swapping the RX7 kit onto it.

points system has it's benefits, but it's no different when moving between classes. With the changes I'm making this winter I'll be maxed out in my current class at 9 points, but to be competitive in the next class up I would need to add a lot of stuff. The next class maxes at 22 points, so the really fast cars are close to that many points. I would need to burn 13 points in the right mods to be a championship contender. So that's the plan, make the most of my 9 points in CP, hopefully get the record next season, then throw a ton of upgrades at it to be competitive in CM the year after.
