Miller Park AutoX this weekend!

Postby Nsquared97 » Wed Oct 10, 2012 7:55 am

So, I honestly have no idea if I will be making this event, completely work dependant. I worked both Saturday and Sunday last weekend (rocking 9 days straight so far, yeehaaaa...), and would be surprised if I'm not required to work this Saturday again. Which, if I don't have to work Sunday and do decide to go, means getting out of work at 10:30pm Sat night, then getting up at ~6am to make it to Milwaulkee in time for the event... Work hard, play harder right? lol so anyway we'll see what happens. Austin is bugging the crap out of me to go. Tony your planning on going, Matt you going to be there for sure?

Also, what are the details on this? Mainly, what's the cost to run the event, do we have to pre-register, what are the important times (registration, driver's meeting, first car off etc.) and what classing does the group use? Still don't remember what org. is actually hosting it lol.

Just realized the drive is further than I though, ugh. Really no way I could do it unless I/ew leave Saturday and spend the night on that side of the lake. Tony, you still have a trailer out back...?

hoping to go, but ive had a very sick wife recently so it really depends on how she is doing...my doors are usually wide open Nick, but with her being sick shed probably rather me not have guests right now. Maybe Matt has a couch/floor you can crash on? IIRC registration opens around 7, first cars out was around 9. I think classing is based on SCCA but i coukd be wrong, the club is Fox Valley Sports Car Club.

7:30 registration till 9:00 I believe.

I'd say that you could crash here... But you'd be driving further then.

Dang! 5 hour drive. We could cut that down to 4 hours if we take the ferry across the lake for $185. hahaha. I know my time is worth a WHOLE lot less than that.
I thought it was closer too.
Matt, how much farther are you?

Edit: Dammit! there's a bunch of toll roads too!

There's toll roads? I thought the tolls didn't start until IL?

oh yeah. You can avoid the tolls by taking rt41, but it takes longer.

I think I'm calling it, I am working Saturday, and there is a 60% chance of rain now (has been going up all week). Not really worth making the trip IMO, I could use a bit more restful day off for the first time in 2 weeks haha. And maybe fix some things on my car instead of beating on it lol.

Lol. I'm not gonna go if I'm gonna be alone. I don't plan on running my car anyway, so it'd be a waste.

Nick, let's make this weekend productive. I'll help you wrench on your car.

Haha sounds like a great idea to me, I have plenty of projects to work on. Brakes need to be flushed/bled. Working tomorrow, I'll give you a call at some point.

So no e30 this weekend at the event.... I won't bother bringing it down there.. Not worth the effort since its not even really fun in the rain. S4 will have to do.

I did do this today though.... :)
