I'd like to try my hand at drag racing one day. One day...

Funny enough, there's a 1/8 mile strip pretty close to my house, but I've never been...

My 60' was 2.429... My launch or lack thereof was really hurting me. I could feel the car bogging down while the guys in the other lane just walked away. By the second half of the track I was reeling everyone in, but it wasn't enough. I only came out ahead in that one race.

what you need is a set of wrinkle walls and some brake boosting.

Man, that first Suncoast video you posted, that course was painful. Driving looked pretty decent though! What are your street tires for that car? Being only 0.6 sec off someone on ZII's if you aren't running that ilk of tire is pretty impressive.

brake boosting is basically holding the car at the line with the brakes while giving the car as much throttle as the brakes will hold. Basically like a brake torque in an automatic without spinning the wheels. It loads the engine and builds boost. Other option is enable launch control and anti-lag in MS. Flat shift would help drop your et also.

Yeah, the course wasn't great, but I got over it. I guess some people complained because they changed it halfway through the day, making the finish line a bit unsettling.

My street tires are Hankook V12 Evos. They're still a summer tire, but the difference between them and the Star Specs, even when worn out, is massive. The only downside to the dunlops is my wheel setup isn't staggered like Rostock, so the car oversteers more at the limit with less warning. The extra grip is well worth it, though.

Went to another autocross this weekend. It was a lot of fun. I got the chance to drive my E30, an Integra, a Camaro, and a 300zx ChumpCar. More stuff coming, but here is a little preview - I let my friend with the Camaro take a spin in my E30 at 7 PSI.

I think you need wider rear tires.

They're 225s on 8" wheels. I think I'd probably be fine with some summer tires.

The car isn't that fast, but he's coming from a V6 Camaro with an auto transmission. I drove his car, and throttle control isn't really an issue in that thing lol

I looped my E30 around once, but I was just pushing it too hard. I also tried sliding it 360 degrees around that last turnaround cone during a "fun run," but only made it about 90 degrees and lost the slide. I'm dying to try drifting (aka kill these tires) lol

I thoroughly enjoyed that video haha. With a set of 225 RS3's I think that car would be plenty controllable.

225s are skinny lol. 245 minimum! It just seems like the rear end wants to come around too easily. Probably from power, maybe the rear is being too stiff. sway bar or spring wise.

depends on the tire. 225 in one tire can be wider than 245 in another.
